David Budd first conducted the Alton Concert Orchestra in 2003 and, under the guidance of Graham Cross, took on the role of Principal Conductor in 2007. This coincided with the inagaugral Last Night of the Proms concert in Alton Public Gardens. He haded the baton over to Chris Gardner in 2017 after a successful 10 years during which the orchestra performed challenging pieces from the amateur classical repertoire.
David has remained as a musician with orchestra and has recently returned to conducting to support us whilst we appoint a new Musical Director. He will be conducting our summer Proms.
